Christine Obute Otigba; I am a chef, a business owner and a Baby Girl
When did you start saving on Piggyvest?
Ehmm, I don’t remember but I started through a Travel Target savings by Ufuoma (a travel blogger); I ate the money sha and didn’t travel but it was sweet and I thought: I should do this more often!
Apart from saving, do you also invest and in what?
I invest in myself by looking like money to be trusted to handle more money! People see me and bring big projects my way while being scared to offer me some jobs cause they feel the amount is an insult! I Stan!
What do you spend most of your income on?
Food, Clothes, Friends and Family, Cab, Data, Hair and skincare…. Man too🌚
What would you like to stop spending money on?
Data because it’s daylight robbery to me; Cab because I should be driving but I’m not sure if I hate driving cause I don’t have a car or I’m meant for the owner’s corner life; as a baby girl that I am. I chose the owner’s corner.
If money wasn’t a concern, what would your career be in?
Living life mehn! Traveling, Eating, Forming Eat Pray Love you know; none of that hustling shit😭 but money is part of the 99 so we move.
How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected your business?
Let’s just thank God for life please!
What Piggyvest feature is your favourite?
Target savings! See I can set a Target for any and everything, my man’s birthday, my trip (I plan in my head but never to go), my birthday! And the best part is I can wake up one day move everything to my flex; flex life and start again and still meet my target! The enjoyment of embezzling my money is unmatched!
What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve spent money on?
IPNTS!
If you won a lottery, what’s the first thing you will do?
Move a bulk to my Piggyvest; for post spend clarity then buy like 10k Assorted Suya (you know Chicken, Ram, Tozo, Shaki et al, maybe Masa sef) with wine and just balance and be smiling at my account balance.
How would you spend a typical friday. Netflix or party/turn up?
Netflix; corona is outside.
If you retired today, what would you do with your free time?
Business consultation (I know, I know) I never stop working but I’m good at giving advice and all and I never stop talking so might as well yea; Also Spa! Like a lot of on the beach sipping of coconut water from coconut, receiving massages and ordering grilled something type of spa days; listening to the waves or some chilled music. Just vibes!
How broke have you been? What was the extreme/crazy thing you did?
Ugh! I hate remembering poverty but yea one time I was so broke I made everything from scratch, I remember not being able to afford 78p syrup and just making it from scratch and realizing I was poor poor this was not a drill; so I got a job for money! The ghetto 😭
Have you ever spent money you told yourself you would save ?
Saving is pointless without spending if we’re keeping it real so yes! Every damn time!
Do you have any feedback for Piggyvest?
I think a mini saving class or tutorial would be lit; I learnt how to use all my features by disturbing you guys in the DMs every minute but there are still a lot of things I don’t know, I have clients who pay me to teach them how Piggyvest works and manage their savings cause they feel it’s hard; so a tutorial and maybe account managers for your big savers to help manage investments and set targets would help grow the platform 🤷🏾♀️
