Whether you’re a young adult ready to start saving for retirement, a 50-something ready to pay off your debts or a young married couple just starting your own family, sustainable savings and accessible investments are two essential things.

PiggyVest aims to help you do both of those things while guiding you through the process! Everyone finds their own unique use for the app, and that, we think is the beauty of PiggyVest.

Every month, we shine a spotlight on one saver (or group of savers), asking them questions about their savings and investment culture and how the product is specifically helping them shape how they spend and save for future responsibilities.

This month, we have a young entertainment professional using Piggyvest to build his wealth saving and investing.

So, here we go, meet Robert.

Introduce yourself: What is your name and what do you do?

My Name is Robert Ekpo, I am an OAP/Master of Ceremonies and a Comedian.

When did you start saving on PiggyVest?

My elder brother did a few years ago. Then it was called “PiggyBank”. I think you guys just started then.

Apart from saving, do you also Invest and in what?

Apart from saving, I’ve also done Safe lock a couple of times. The one that confuses me is how to invest in a rice farm? It’s confusing.🤷🏽‍♂️

What do you spend most of your income on?

Data (MTN gulps it’s data from us), Fuel (PHCN) will not allow us to be great!!

What would you like to stop spending money on?

Data and Fuel!!

If money wasn’t a concern, what would your career be in?

Money is still not a concern to me because if it was, then I’d be practicing what I studied in University which is “Radiography” but now I work in a Radio Station! How ironic! Lmfao!.

Do you enjoy travelling and where is your dream vacation destination?

I love traveling. Because I’m a Master of Ceremonies, I travel a lot for events and weddings outside where I reside. So it’s always fun. I would love to go to the Maldives or Seychelles for holidays.

What Piggyvest feature is your favourite?

Flex Naira is my favorite PiggyVest feature even though I just found out after all these year that withdrawal doesn’t attract any penalties. Hahaha!!.

How do you budget your income?

Before I get income, I already have a budget percentage of what I’m spending and what I’m saving. Even though it doesn’t work all the time but that’s how I budget my income.

Has PiggyVest helped you save?

PiggyVest has helped me immensely adapt a saving culture I never thought I had.

Is there any specific thing you’ve used Piggyvest to achieve as a couple (You and your wife)?

Personally, I’ve used PiggyVest to achieve saving for part of my rent this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic that stopped public gatherings, weddings and events.

Where did you have your honeymoon?

We went to a beautiful hotel in Ibadan. Not your regular honeymoon spot but it was worth it.

Do you have a joint savings account? If Yes, why? If no, why not?

We don’t have a joint savings account yet. Dunno why we haven’t even opened one sef. No reason whatsoever but I’m sure we will open one soon (that’s what we always say) Lmfao.

Who do you think is better at saving? You or your wife?

My wife is a better saver than me. Generally, I think women save better than men though.

Do you have any feedback for Piggyvest?

PiggyVest is doing an amazing job. I love the fact that different ideas are introduced from time to time for users to be able to imbibe the saving culture. But we should be given more incentives to attract us jor! Like me that started with you….should be called Ambassadors! Lmfao!

There it is guys. You too can begin to use your PiggyVest account to fulfill any and all your savings needs! Remember you can start with as low as N100/daily; and pick your own flexible investment options!
